A male. I do have several other pokemon that share her egg group, but somehow they are all female.
[You know what he needs? Even more water pokemon.]
Hmm. Breeding her to another Dragonair or Dratini would help pass down nearly all their moves. But breeding with Haxorus could introduce some new egg-moves. Wich could make it interesting to keep one of the eggs myself for future breeds.
Do you know if your Haxorus would pass down any interesting egg moves? Or tutor moves?
I don't think so. I haven't been working with him for some time, plus I don't know what an Axew could inherit if the eggs came out as one of them. I, uh... also haven't put too much of a focus on bringing him to any tutors since he's not in my main line-up right now.
[He's been putting more of a focus on the Big Scary Ones, but shhh.]
Mhmm, all right. What moves do your Dratini and Dragonair have? I'll send you a file with Aurora's moves too. So we can see which match-up would be best.
[In fact, within a few moments, Bertolt's gear is going to ping with the arrival of a document detailing Aurora's moves, as well as their origin.]
I'm not sure on my Dragonair anymore, but I know Samwise is... Well, he's given Galliard a run for his money the last time they played around and it wasn't even intentional. If I remember right, Jormundgand wasn't a big fighter when we were working together and he can be pretty aloof too. I had a list that had some of the moves I noticed Samwise using and a lot of them were... Hang on.
[Bertolt frowns to himself, and he sets the 'gear down so he can stand up and lean over it to grab at a book that's just off-screen. C'mere, J.R.R. Torkoal book! He's pretty sure he tucked it in this one...]
If I had to guess, I'd say Samwise is the stronger of the two as far as their abilities go.
[Bertolt, please have a better filing system for your information. Have you ever considered sixty notebooks? Or a computer?
Though while he waits for the answer, he can ask another thing that comes to mind:]
Did you catch him in the wild or did he come from another breeder?
[Armin just has to check. Aurora was bred for him by Sion. It's only a small chance, but he better make sure they didn't come from the same breeder. Don't want any freaky incest noodles.]
[If he had a computer, nothing would get done. He'd have eighty tabs of cooking recipes open and it'd slow the poor thing down. Or worse, discover other parts of the internet.
Both of them came from breeders. I actually haven't bumped into any wild ones up close yet, but I've seen a small handful of them. I got Samwise a couple months ago, but he didn't hatch until recently. Jormundgand I've had for much longer. I think I picked him up from Cecil... not last year, but the year before? Several months after we settled in, at least.
Neither have I, to be honest. I've been focusing a bit on training up the pokemon I currently have. There is a couple I'd really like to get to level 100, before I branch out and add new pokemon to my roster.
Have you considered any that come from fossils? I... know he's not here anymore, but I have a Pokemon from Newt from that era. I don't think it's the same period that Galliard is from, but I'm sure you could learn a lot about her kind.
[He pauses for a moment to flip through a small notebook, and his eyes light up. Found it! Now to take a picture - don't mind the camera shifting around a bit, Armin - and sends Samwise's list of abilities.]
For what it's worth, she also seems to get along with what few Pokemon I have that know water moves. When I last had her out she was trying to preen Gizem even though she doesn't have feathers, so maybe her offspring would take after her.
I'd love to get more from fossils. I do have Douglas. I was able to revive him from a fossil Nemesis found for me. He's an Anorith. Apparently, they were among the first predatory pokemon to appear in evolutionary history. Before that, Pokemon mostly fed on nutrients from the water, but Anorith marks the point where Pokemon actually started being capable of hunting each other down.
It's fascinating, isn't it?
I've heard there is an ancient turtle-like Pokemon. I'd love to have one of those. Oh. And a Kabuto and Omastar. And a Lileep. They aren't water Pokemon exactly, but they did live inside ancient ocean. Marco managed to get one of those, you know? He's very lucky.

Sion was the one who bred Aurora for me. I don't know if he has been breeding any more Dratini eggs lately though.
