[It's late. The lights are mostly out in the jail, except for the dim glow of Jean's borrowed communicator. The various Pokemon who have infiltrated his cell are also snoozing; the Voltorbs in lumpy, vaguely crackling piles, Jean's dance criminal bird perched on the bed rail near his head, and the little green monkey curled in a ball at his side. It's quiet, and peaceful.
And hopelessly boring.
And also pretty damn lonely.
Jean sighs, tired of scrolling mindlessly through the communicator's various apps, and checks the time. It's late, especially on his new schedule that involves opening a coffee shop every morning, but... but it would be okay just this once, right? Robbie can probably handle opening on his own. Jean dials a number, the very first one he added to the communicator.]
[He really ought to be asleep by now, but with Jean still in jail it's not as easy as it should be. Even the Purrloin curled up in the crook of his neck doesn't help. The bed was too empty, and he's not even sure if having Marcel in it would make it better.
He's on his stomach with his face half-buried in the pillow and one eye focused on his Pokegear while Belle purrs away in his ear when Jean calls, and for a moment Bertolt stares at it. And then he glances up at the time in the corner of the screen. It's...
Huh, is it really that late? He really should've been sleeping an hour or two ago, but you know what? He takes a moment to free his arms out from under the pillow and after making sure Belle was still dozing, he hits the button to accept the call.]
Yeah. I can't sleep. I'm surprised you're still up, too.
[Jean sighs in relief when Bertolt picks up the phone; he could've probably gone to sleep on his own, but it's better like this. Better to talk to Bertolt, even if he saw him earlier today, than to try and toss and turn it all out on his own.]
I can't sleep either. It's too quiet in here.
[No snoring, no thrashing around, only a few Pokemon around. It's positively silent!]
[He has the whole bed to himself and while he should be used to it after sleeping on his own for nearly two years, having someone to cuddle up to at night was something he quickly readjusted to.
It even keeps him from twisting into those super awkward positions!]
I wish they'd at least let me sleep there. It wouldn't even have to be in the cells itself, just... somewhere where I could see you in person.
[But that'd probably land both of them in even hotter water, wouldn't it?]
...I'm not sure if I could handle the look I'd get from Annie if I did that, though. Or if I did anything to get put in there. A-And that's assuming they'd stick us in the same cell...
[Well, shit, now you've gone and made him blush. Jean is quiet for a few moments, a little smile tickling the corners of his mouth, before he suddenly turns serious.]
I've, um... I've been thinking about that. I have a lot of time to think in here, and... yeah, that's something I've been thinking about.
[What else is he supposed to do in here? Think about the Jennies and their pointed hints that more of those cranberry scones would be much appreciated?]
Yeah, I've been thinking about it, and...
[Jean swallows.]
I know I'm not Reiner, and it wouldn't be the same, but... but I think I want to try it?
[But then Jean looks away, and the doubt creeps back in.]
But, um... it's going to take awhile. Like, it won't work the first time. Because, well...
[Because you're huge, baby. They've only gotten to the cuddle, smooching, and over-clothes frotting stages, but that's enough for Jean to know that a.) he wants more, and b.) Bertolt is hung like a fucking horse and there's no way he's taking that up the ass the first time around.]
[He remembers the Colossal Titan jokes back in the communal showers! He definitely remembers them, and it's almost enough for Bertolt to drop his own gaze.
But this was important.]
We could also, uh... I could do it first? And... we could figure out ways to make it work the other way.
[That way they could both have a little fun! And they'd also have something to do while they did work on that 'big' issue. It's a curse, honestly.]
[Holy shit. Give Jean a few moments to process all this. He had, weirdly enough, never considered that Bertolt might be the one to, for lack of a better word, be the girl.]
That... oh, damn.
[Yeah, he likes the idea. He very, very much likes this idea.]

Hey, Bertolt? Are you awake?

You're probably the only person ever who wants to go to jail.
[A sad chuckle.]
You want to commit a crime? Get in here with me?
no subject
[But that'd probably land both of them in even hotter water, wouldn't it?]
...I'm not sure if I could handle the look I'd get from Annie if I did that, though. Or if I did anything to get put in there. A-And that's assuming they'd stick us in the same cell...

[Mostly.]
I'll be getting out soon enough. It's just... a month is a lot longer than I thought it would be.
no subject
[He's been doing some reading while Jean has been locked up!]
Or I could find Doodle and he could chew on the wall instead of a hammer?
no subject
Maybe let Doodle, Sahara, and Maul start chewing on the wall from the outside.
[More Pokemon = Jean gets out faster, right?]
Or maybe you can just bribe the Jennies with more baked goods and coffee tomorrow, and you can come take a nap with me or something.
no subject
[There's no one around to hear him, so he's going to say it! There!]
Have they talked about anything they've been craving?
no subject
[Well, shit, now you've gone and made him blush. Jean is quiet for a few moments, a little smile tickling the corners of his mouth, before he suddenly turns serious.]
I've, um... I've been thinking about that. I have a lot of time to think in here, and... yeah, that's something I've been thinking about.
[What, Jean? What is on your mind?]
no subject
[The Jennies and their cravings? No, no, that can't be right. That'd be a super weird thing to think about, wouldn't it?
And then he sees that tiny hint of a blush and Bertolt cocks his head, brows furrowing in curiosity before it all clicks.]
Oh.
[Oh.]
O-Oh. You... have?

[What else is he supposed to do in here? Think about the Jennies and their pointed hints that more of those cranberry scones would be much appreciated?]

I-I... You're really sure?
[Really, really, absolutely sure, Jean?]

[But then Jean looks away, and the doubt creeps back in.]

[It's a little embarrassing to think about, but he's genuinely curious.]
I've only ever done it one way before, but... I think I know what to do.
no subject
[This is very embarrassing to talk about! They should have just boned without a plan, take the 'see what happens' approach.]
I always figured... I thought it would be me who would... you know.
[Spoilers: he very much likes the idea, but the logistics are a little boggling.]
no subject
W-We can do that too! It's... I'd like it but it's like you said, it'll take awhile.
[If Jean got hurt, Bertolt would feel incredibly bad about the whole thing.]
I'm okay with taking our time. I promise.
no subject
[Have you seen your dong lately, Bertolt? It's ridiculous.]
But I'm... yeah.
[Jean laughs, and then groans. A few of the Voltorbs wake up and crackle grumpily at the sound.]
I need to get out of here. I miss you so much.
no subject
I'd say I could sneak over to the window but I think it's a little too high for both of us.
[Not to mention it'd be pretty suspicious if a Jenny found Bertolt standing on the back of his Aggron peering into the cells.]
Is there any chance they'd reduce your sentence?
no subject
No, they'd notice you. And then we'd both be in trouble.
[Jean sighs, smiling a little sadly.]
Probably not. But a plate of those cranberry scones you make and some fresh coffee would likely net you some longer visiting hours.
no subject
[And having him as collateral would show that he wouldn't be getting up to no good, right?]
no subject
[Most of which are Marcel's puppies, anyway.]
Distract them with food and fluff so we can have some extra time.
