We're okay. Armin and Historia went off to the festival, so the rest of us have been sort of hanging around Cerulean. I've been sticking to Jean for the most part, but I've been putting Marcel and Pieck through some of the courses over at the Police Academy in town. I figured I'd see how I did there too because back home I placed third in our entire class in the training corps for the military and so far it's...
Weird.
I don't know how to explain it but it's completely different from stuff we did back home - I mean, the general stuff is the same like running laps and physical exercise, but everything else is the opposite of what I expected. But I found out that they don't just use Growlithe in the police. There's some other branches and they apparently use Arcanine in this group called SWAT? I don't know what it's for, but... Marcel would be a little scary in something like that. They're going to let us see what he can do with that sort of stuff, but we just have to wait for them to set the course up. It's not going to be for a couple days but it's... kind of exciting, you know? Even though I'm technically a cadet, they've been really|
They've been really nice.
That one kind of looks like Galliard. Only less teeth.
Aw man I don't think I got to meet Galliard did I? What kinda Pokemon are they?
And oh man you joined the police? I bet you'll be rad at it! SWAT is like...I can't remember the letters but it's basically a special unit that gets sent into dire/really dangerous situations, like if there's an armed group threatening to kill hostages they've taken. Makes sense they'd use an evolved pokemon for that.
[ It's still...disturbing that Armin and his friends were in the military. It was so, so fucked up to him. But there's not much he can do about it here, but make sure they get the kind of lives they ought to have had, in his opinion. ]
I'm glad they're nice to ya. I've heard people can be rough when training but, I don't see how that helps people be all they can be and be the best.
People were saying he's this thing called a Tyrannosaurus? It's some sort of dinosaur, but I never even heard of them until I found that out. Hang on|
[He attaches two pictures; one of his Tyrunt trying to get his Aron into his mouth shortly after hatching and still relatively small, and another that is more recent, the same Tyrunt's back now standing up to Bertolt's waist. The Aron, unfortunately, is still the same size, but it just means that he's now eligible for free rides on the Tyrunt's head.]
I think the harsh training is... they can see the potential in you, but in order to draw that out they have to push you to the limit. Either way, they're nowhere near as strict as the instructors I had back home were. Shadis would make you run laps until you dropped if you screwed up, even if it was in the rain.
[And the training he had before that... Well, the Trainee Corps was nothing compared to all of that.]
Truthfully, I wanted to join the Military Police back home but only the top ten of the class had the chance. Here, it's like... anyone could join it if they wanted to.
[ Ash sent back some snaps of his Pokemon as he thought over the message. One shows the Cranidos trying to headbutt a tree, another shows...a Pikachu going toe to toe with it? ]
Ohhh, a Tyrunt! I've seen a couple of those. They always seem like mischief-makers.
Well...let's just say I heard about your home from Armin and it's super different from mine. You gotta be 18 to join the military where I'm from. [ He's not going to get into child soldier shit here, nope, not today- ]
Anyway, best not to talk about that or I'll end up getting frustrated and shit. Sounds like you'll be a great Junior Officer, especially given the training you already had.
He hasn't really messed with the others, but he seems to have it out for my Aron. I'm not sure why either, I mean... It's not like he did anything to Galliard to provoke him like that.
Either way, uh...
This stuff is kind of a nice distraction from everything else on my mind lately too. It's probably weird, but the exercises they put us through is a really good form of stress relief for me.
Some pokemon just don't get along. I got some troublemakers in my team and some who are more responsible, so they often end up butting heads from time to time. [ The whole devil on your shoulder, angel on the other? Imagine that with a bunch of Pokemon. It's a wonder he gets anything done. ]
Oh yeah. When I've stuff on my mind I usually go for a run. Nothing like what you do, I prefer parkour to like, training exercises. But it's the same idea. Getting physical to keep your head from doing the working.
Do you ever worry about the bigger ones hurting the small ones? It's not that I'm too worried about my Aron getting hurt - gods, he ate a truck within the first few days of us landing in Vermillion - but some of the other ones aren't as uh tough.
I do sometimes. And some of my bigger Pokemon need extra TLC, like my Lapras, so I worry about them too, with the most like boisterious, that's the word, of my team. I just constantly keep an eye on them and only having so many out at a time helps. If I had everyone out at once, then I'd really have to worry about it.
Oh, you ain't heard of it? Parkour is basically running but...okay so, in the cities. There's ways to run up over the fences and walls, and to get onto buildings and to keep moving across the skyline. Parkour's about that. Instead of running around a building, you just go over it, and you can cross towns or cities like that without going down to ground level or by being inventive!
My Houndoom used to need a lot of attention when I first got her. Marcel used to scare her with just how obnoxious he'd get when no one was paying attention to him, but now she puts him in his place if he starts to bother her too much.
...It's actually kind of funny to watch an eighty pound dog throw down one that's as big as he is. She never hurts him and he likes to ham it up when he's knocked down.
Though that sounds a lot like just running an obstacle course minus the use of maneuver gear.
Man, I can only hope Scuabtuinne gets that confident. But with her scars and her nature, idk. I'm just here to keep her comfortable and happy. And she's got friends in my team who'll look out for her, so that's what counts at the end of the day.
I do have some hilarious overactors on my team too though. Remind me to see you a vid of An Tintreach (one of my Pikachus) someday!
Well, I never ran an obstacle course or used maneuver gear, so I can't say how similar it is. You're welcome to come on a run with me sometime, I often take certain mons of mine along too. I know it ain't like, strict 'battle' training but I reckon it helps them.
If you're ever in Cerulean again while we're here, I'd be happy to bring you on the course at the academy? It's not too crazy and it's... honestly a little fun. And it's nice to run if you're really bothered by something, because you can forget about it and focus on beating it as fast as you can if that's your thing.
Yeah, if I drop by Cerulean again someday! Kanto seemed pretty nice while I was there.
Well, Shockmau5 (my other Pikachu) loves it. He'll sometimes slow down so he can use me to jump up to something and find a quicker path that way, or to drop down a ladder so I can climb up after him. Macavity does the same but he doesn't have thumbs so he'll kick stuff down to help if he can (he's an Umbreon). Amalthea (Ponyta!) adores it, although I keep it ground level with her. My birds like to fly alongside when we go up, I think it's cos they find the idea of a human on the rooftops kinda quirky. And of course there's Danny. He was my starter :D
[ Attached is an image of the running group, sitting down and chilling out on a rooftop after a good sprint. Ash is, of course, in the middle, with a Lucario waving at his side and a Pikachu peeking out from over his shoulder. A Staraptor is perched on the railing behind them and an Umbreon is lying over Ash's legs. ]
If we're not there when you do, I could... I could probably borrow one of Armin or Eren's pokemon and fly down too. I lik|
[He tries to delete most of it, but he doesn't catch the entire thing. There's no running from that, now is there?]
...I had fun last time. Even if I probably didn't show it that well.
[Bertolt worries at his bottom lip as he carefully looks over all of the Pokemon in the next picture. They're all relatively small, or at the very least weren't gigantic and heavy like most of his own team. He has a Glaceon, yes, but the rest... He's not sure how well Freja would do with things that weren't on the ground.]
[ Ash smiled softly to himself, not bringing attention to it. But he was glad that Bert had fun when they'd hung out. He wasn't sure if he'd just imposed on him and bothered him a bunch. ]
That'd be awesome. T-Pain would probably love to see ya again, and it'd be nice to meet the rest of your Pokemon in a more welcoming place for em!
Depends on who you have and if they're up for it! Cu - she's a Lycanroc and there's meant to be an accent in her name but they don't have the keys for it on the Gear - isn't as keen, otherwise she could probably do it. And there's on ground obstacle courses, like the ones you do. If there's one thing I've learned from my Pokemon, if they want to do something then they're gonna do it, typing or 'standards' about what they should do be damned.
[He is still learning how to be social, even after being here for nearly a year. It's... rough without having Reiner to hide behind when it becomes too much, and in a way Jean has become his substitute if he needs to be rescued from an awkward social situation when he doesn't have his Pokemon around.
...Granted Marcel tends to make those situations worse by encouraging people to come by and talk. Dog, why?]
Gods, don't give them any ideas. I think if Herja tried to do anything with buildings, she'd take down the whole thing. I don't even want to imagine my Aron doing that after he evolves - he cost me almost my entire savings in Vermillion and that was from a truck.
...The black one in that picture though, uh|
Macavity? He wouldn't be related to Glaceon, would he? Because I have one of those, but...
Sorry just had to check the gear cos I've never heard of a Glaceon but yeah! They both evolve from Eevees! I got Macavity from those eggs that just randomly appeared for everyone, a little after that Prom bullshit, and he evolved real recently.
And don't worry, I'm too busy dealing with all my mons to be encouraging others to be trouble! Macavity has a bad case of sticky paws, I'm pretty sure he stole a TM from one of the department stores when I was looking around once, the little git
That's where I got my Aron from... So he's a different color than the rest of his species? What color are they normally?
[He digs through his Pokegear's files for a few moments, and then sends a few pictures of his Glaceon; Two from when he was tracking her in the Ice Caves back on the Sevii Islands, and a few more recent ones with his ice Vulpix.]
Oh yeah I can kinda see the resemblance now! She's real cute. So's that other Pokemon with her!
Can't say I know about Arons, yours is the first I saw. I actually didn't realise Macavity was a different colour from the norm at first; my friend also got an Eevee from those eggs, so I just thought it was how they looked normally. According to my Gear, a 'normal' Umbreon has red eyes and yellow stripes.
[ He sends some images back in kind; a silver Eevee, sitting and listening to T-Pain, and another of it playing with his 'brother', Noctis' shiny Eevee. And another of him as an Umbreon, looking up at the viewer with bright yellow eyes and a clearly happy, friendly look. ]
Well, he has what mine'll turn into, I think. Mine hasn't done any evolving since I got him though, but his was silver with blue eyes. Mine is more of a... Yellow-ish gold? And his eyes are an orange-red instead of blue. It's kind of eerie in the right lighting, because it almost looks like they glow.
...I wonder what their other forms would look like for that line. Silver looks really cute the way it is too.
Sounds like a nice colour combo either way to me! Oh man there's so many different things an Eevee can evolve into. There's like...seven, eight completely different pokemon? I just let Macavity decide, and he became what he is. Apparently it's from a strong feeling of friendship at night-time.
Oh and I got a pic of Noctis'! His evolved into an Espeon, they're normally a sort of light purple; [ Behold Bert, a lime green Espeon that is playing with Macavity. He is as beautiful as he is glaringly bright ]
Okay so; find an abandoned building, usually a warehouse or somewhere spacious, grab some lights, set it up for sound and have a party there at night. That's a rave. They're cool if you're into partying and can keep an ear out in case trouble kicks up cos there's no like, bouncers or anything.
[ And cos you gotta be able to pick up on when the cops are coming and make a quick exit otherwise your night's gonna end up sucking one way or the other ]
